I am very happy to share that the book chapter I co-authored with Jorge Alejandro Carrillo Baรฑuelos in the volume edited by Dr. Maria Antonia Tigre and Armando Rocha โ ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ฏ๐ข๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฐ ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฑ๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐ฌ โ is being published on 7th July 2025!!
The book and chapter is available Open Access - see here.
For the chapter: ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ฏ๐ข๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฐ ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฑ๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐ฌ: ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ข๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ฐ๐๐๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐, ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐๐, ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ญ๐๐, ๐๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ญ๐๐๐ (see) โ explores the scope of judicial dialogue amongst international courts and tribunals.
This has been extremely important with the quartet of requests for #advisoryopinions on climate change at International Court of Justice (ICJ), International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea/Tribunal international du droit de la mer, Inter-American Court of Human Rights, and recently African Court on Human and Peoples'โ Rights. We examine overlaps in legal arguments, the scope and limits of jurisdiction, how the courts โtalkโ to each other, the risks of (potential) contradictory interpretations, and more. With the #ICJ advisory opinion expected later this year, and the upcoming opinions from the IACtHR and AfCtHPR, this chapter โ and the book โ is especially timely. Immensely grateful to have had the chance to contribute and work together with such an amazing team!! Stay tuned!! Any thoughts, comments, and feedback would be most welcome.
